Celebrating 70 years of the world’s famous scooter, Scooter Depot recently gathered over 500 Vespistis to an exclusive Vespa Day held at the Terra Amore Hillside Resort in Magallanes, Cavite. “This day is not Scooter Depot’s day. This is for everyone of us  here and I hope you get to enjoy today’s activities and of course the raffle,” said Eugene Buenaventra, Scooter Depot Ph’s president and general manager. The day kicked off with an early morning ride that started at the Shell station in Daang Hari, Molino. Mark Velez of Scooter Depot together with topnotch Vespa mechanic Ado Alegado spearheaded the ride going to Terra Amore, stopping by Twin Lakes in Tagaytay to have some group photos taken before heading to their final destination in Magallanes town. Joining the morning ride were two Vespa riders from Malaysia and one from Vietnan who flew in just for the Vespa Day.

The well-prepared Scooter Depot team

Upon arrival at Terra Amore the riders were welcomed by Buenaventura and his team. A number of food trucks like Sinangag Express and Potato Corner were ready to serve breakfast including Yellow Cab that did not run out of pizzas during the day. Motori Moderni, North Vespa, and Ride Manila likewise set up their booths and gave out huge discounts. Aside from the meet and greet and swap meet Buenaventura also gave out two awards, the Best Automatic Scooter won by Jason Porciuncula for his blue Vespa Primavera  and the Best Manual Scooter going to a red Vespa 90 SS replica owned by Darwin Angeles.

The Vespa PX-150 and Vespa S

Two brand new Vespas up for grabs kept the riders glued to their seats. A Vespa S worth 130,000 pesos and a Vespa PX-150 worth 265,000 pesos. Before drawing the winning ticket for the Vespa S Willy Tee Ten, president of MotoItalia, the exclusive distributor of Piaggio in the Philippines acknowledged the efforts of Scooter Depot. ” I have never seen a gathering of vintage and modern Vespas this big. I can’t wait to join you guys next year”, says Tee Ten. A lucky guy from Bulacan by the name of Nerio Cruz got his wish as his name was called.  For the Vespa PX-150 Jok Vega of the Vespa South Club emerged  as the big winner with the winning ticket this time drawn by Vespa dealer Raul Ylanan of Motori Moderni.

The 2017 Vespa Day Philippines is supported by Yellow Cab, Sinangag Express, Potato Corner, Motul, Headware, NGK, S.I.P. Scooter Shop, Polini, and Malossi.
