We at WheelsPH/Autocar have made a table how much cars will cost now that the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) law has been passed. Although the new prices won’t take effect until after the Implementing Rules and Regulations have been released (expected on January 17, 2018), the table shows approximately how much the prices will move (either upward or downward).
At first glance, it is obvious that the mid-size SUV market will be hardest hit the most, with up to 220K difference. Smaller entry-level cars will be slapped by as much as 48K. A big surprise, however, are the prices of high-end, luxury cars, which have dropped considerably.
With the new tax scheme, one can get two entry-level cars or even a mid-size SUV, for free, for the old price of luxury SUV.
